TOO CLOSE

Three women fold images of victimhood, exploitation, objectification, and penetration.
They embody the blurring of boundaries between the penetrator and the penetrated, between legitimacy and manipulation, between intimacy and harassment.
They create a space for testing and together inquire and challenge the boundaries of the body, the boundaries of space, and in relation to that, the penetration into them.

The work was created during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the boundaries of the body and personal space were felt extremely, and with that, the penetration into them as well.
As individuals, a clear boundary was created around the private body, the perception of space changed, and public space became a battleground. We are occupied with calculating distances from others and alert to any deviation from them. How close is too close, or not close enough? When does closeness become a danger?
